Who We Are
-
Suzanne Abu-Sharr
A newer-yet-avid needlepointer, Suzanne found a welcoming community through Stitch when she moved to Middleburg in 2022.
Suzanne is a retired educator and turns to needlepoint as a wellspring for mindfulness and creativity, the latest chapter in her lifelong interest in art history and antiques.
When not in the shop, you can find her in a yoga class, reading or at the piano.
-
Lee McKeel
Lee is a tax accountant by day and a needlepointer always.
At a very young age, Lee received the gifts of needlepoint, crochet and knitting through teachings from her grandmother, a talented seamstress.
For Lee, needlepoint is a lifelong art and therapeutic outlet. When she is not chasing a toddler at home, you’ll find her in her garden, with a book, or with needle and thread in hand, working on a piece — almost always a gift for another.
-
Rose Rogers
A member of the Middleburg community since 1990, Rose started with cross-stitch and has been a convert to needlepoint for over 20 years.
In her professional life, Rose always had a project in her purse. Seeing the “creative accountant” in action, some of her colleagues enlisted her to teach them how to needlepoint.
This knack for teaching — and sharing the therapeutic benefits of needlepoint — is on full display in Rose’s role at Stitch.
-
Haven Ward
Haven purchased her first needlepoint project from Stitch years ago. She loved the craft so much she taught herself — with a YouTube assist — and has been a devotee ever since, even winning first prize at Woodlawn Needlework Show.
Stitch has been a central part of Haven’s life since she moved to Middleburg. Wednesday Night Stitch has led to many friendships within the community.
When not stitching or Stitch-ing, by day Haven is an attorney for the federal government. She is an avid equestrian and adores her two dogs.
